T3-26

Hope for HEART STATION to become number one album of the year seems bleak.

EXILE, who somehow had the largest first week sale last year with studio album EXILE LOVE (~670000 units), debuted with their first of three compilation albums to be released this year, with EXILE CATCHY BEST having a daily index of ~120000. In comparasion, HEART STATION's first day sales were ~67000. That is not good.

But whatever. Utada Hikaru is still going to get number one female album of the year.

I'm not holding out much hope for getting one million units this year either.

HEART STATION might end up as digital album of the year, who knows.

Honestly though, if HEART STATION was never released digitally, it might have cleared the 500000 units first week sales mark.

Quite a few of her competitors don't release digitally, so I guess that might be why she has relatively low (although in reality extremely high) physical sales.
